Mighty Quinn's Barbeque

Garnering stellar accolades since its inception, Mighty Quinn's has quickly become a hotspot for barbeque lovers in the East Village. Texas-born pit master Hugh Magnum is a firm believer of the slow cooking philosophy and wood-smokes the meat to achieve that perfect flavor. Accompanying the meats on the menu is a delightful selection of sides like burnt end baked beans, edamame and sweet pea salad and grilled ratatouille. The drinks menu offers a selection of local beers on tap as well as bottles. The restaurant's eco-conscious philosophy has led them to use reclaimed woods for furniture and decor elements, giving a rustic edge to the space. Contemporary lighting choices, including hanging bare bulbs add a nice touch. Check website for more.

Hill Country Barbecue Market

If those cowboys from the salsa commercials ever mosey on up to Hill Country Barbecue Market, they won't be making fun of New York City's southern style anymore. This is barbecue done right. All meat is shipped from Kreuz market in Texas and prepared in a dry-rub style for a taste like no other. The meat isn't the only unique part of Hill Country Barbecue Market though. The restaurant operates in an entirely different fashion, giving you a checklist for what you would like to order and ringing you up individually at the end of your meal. This makes it especially easy to accommodate a large party and give them a real Texas BBQ without the hassle of fighting over the check. Enjoy some delightful live music while you gorge on flavorsome delights whose taste is sure to linger on your tongue for days to come. Child-friendly and tastefully decorated, this establishment is the perfect spot to unwind with friends and family. Pick from an assortment of drinks to go with your scrumptious meals while you're at it.

Fette Sau

Fette Sau, or "fat pig" in German is one of New York's best BBQ restaurants serving meat by the pound and great American whiskeys. The chefs use blended woods for their barbecue and a dry-rub for the meats; additionally, all animals are considered "exclusive organic" or heritage bred animals from small upstate farms. Since the cattle is exclusive, the supply of every cut is limited, so you will often see the menu change. Their best dishes are flank steak, ribs and pork belly and it's the perfect place to meet because the place is filled with the aroma of smoke, wood and spices which only add to the mouthwatering goodness.

Mable’s Smokehouse

Tucked away in a nondescript brick building in Brooklyn, Mable’s Smokehouse’s & Banquet Hall is a wonderful barbecue haven. In contrast to the exterior facade, the interior is beautifully done up with wooden furnishings. Founded by a couple, Jeff Lutonsky and Meghan Love, this restaurant opened its doors in 2011, and quickly rose to become one of the best barbecue spots in town. The menu features delicious brisket, pulled pork, ribs and sausages. Accompany it with a nice chilled beer.

Hometown Bar-B-Que

If you happen to be in Red Hook, Hometown Bar-B-Que is a good place to stop by for your hunger pangs. A self-service restaurant with a countryside ambiance, Hometown Bar-B-Que is a choice for many eaters on the go. Known for its delicious baby back ribs, the restaurant gets quite busy in the evenings. You can choose from options like Korean Pork Ribs, Beef Rib, Texas Red Chili Smoked Brisket, and Frito Pie, or try their delicious sandwiches with staple sides. A good collection of draft beers completes the hearty experience.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

This barbecue house in Harlem has managed to wedge a small slice of biker and country culture right into one of the city's densest urban neighborhoods. Pit Platters include pulled pork and delectably moist barbecued chicken, while some of the specialty plates venture a bit further from Texas, with Churrasco chicken steak and Korean style BBQ beef ribs making appearances. There's plenty of beer and whiskey for the thirst ones, but it's not an all adult place either; you can dine here with your family or even your four legged friends. Matching the rustic vibe of Harlem, the entire restaurant is wood paneled from top to bottom, with colorful ambient lighting creating quite an aesthetic effect.
