For almost 15 years this small, family restaurant with a big reputation has been serving authentic German fare. Despite its heavy German lean the interior does not, thankfully, go overboard with German decor. The menu includes potato and sausage soup, weiner schnitzel, Rouladen, sauerbraten and goulash. The full bar includes a limited wine list and a nice selection of, German and European beers. Saturdays feature live music.
Hospitality and warmth is what you will receive when you reach Carlos' Bistro as the chef/owner himself will walk you to the dining area. A local favorite, the restaurant is known for its fish and seafood among its regular visitors. Pan-seared marine lobster tail and fresh jumbo sea scallops are two of the delicious signature dishes the restaurant is famous for. For a great fine dining experience, do visit Carlos' Bistro.
If you had to select one restaurant in the area that combined superior setting, service and atmosphere without being snobbish, this "standing-ovation" of a restaurant would be it. Everything from the southwestern tiled floors to the adobe walled patio is drenched with care, making it resemble something one would expect to find in Santa Fe. The restaurant offers three ever-changing entrees, which usually include steak, seafood or southwestern fare. Saturdays feature chamber music. Reservations are strongly urged.
The Golf Club Grille is adjacent to The Golf Club Dining Room and is a casual sports grille overlooking the large golfing grounds at The Broadmoor. The grille offers a takeout menu for those on the move. For those who prefer to sit and dine, they can enjoy the big-screen televisions or just gaze out at the beautiful expanse of green lawns and trees. Lunches are available daily but dinner is only held at the grill seasonally or for a special occasion. Hours vary seasonally; call for more details.
