Emera Oval

The Emera Oval is an ice skating rink that is impossible to miss on the Cogswell Street. Open year round, the rink serves as a recreational facility for all those interested in ice skating and speed skating. If you wish to learn, skating classes are also available at the center. Those who are just accompanying friends but don't really wish to try the sport for themselves, can cheer them from the viewing area. The facility has also been used for several national and local level competitions in the past and has been extremely popular since its opening in 2010.

Neptune Theatre

The Neptune Theater originally went by the name of Strand Theatre and was designed by famous architect Andrew Cobb. The Theatre is at its peak during the summer months when tickets sell like hot cakes, and is known among the fraternity as Atlantic Canada's biggest professional regional theater. The theater organizes a range of plays, from musicals to world and Canadian premiers. In the past, it has seen classic productions such as CATS, Westside Story and Beauty and The Beast. Situated in the heart of downtown, Neptune Theatre offers an invaluable experience.

Dalhousie Arts Centre

Opened in 1971, the Dalhousie Arts Centre is among the city's top performance venues. Dalhousie University's multidisciplinary facility is the base of the Dalhousie's Fountain School of Performing Arts and hosts several engaging shows throughout the year. The heart of the center is the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, which is the largest of its kind in town. Besides the main stage, it also comprises of the acclaimed Art Gallery, smaller theater venues and a recital hall. Its sculpture garden is also worth a look.

Scotiabank Centre

Scotiabank Centre, formerly known as Halifax Metro Centre, is Halifax's largest multi-purpose indoor sporting arena. Home to junior hockey's Mooseheads, and full to the rafters when the team is on the ice, the Scotiabank Centre hosts any number of large events, including championship figure skating, basketball, and at least one NHL pre-season game every September. It also serves as an event hall for concerts and cultural functions throughout the year. Visitors of all interests can enjoy the Scotiabank Centre and should check it out when in the Halifax area.

Rebecca Cohn Auditorium

Located in the Dalhousie University Arts Centre, the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium is a well-equipped event space. The spacious auditorium boasts of seating over 1020 spectators and has separate balcony seating and wheelchair accessibility. The hall has an inclined seat arrangement and assure fine views of the stage from each seat. Popularly used as a venue for music concerts, the chic Rebecca Cohn Auditorium is well-facilitated with modern sound and light equipment. Scotiabank Theatre Halifax

Scotiabank Theatre Halifax is where you should be for a taste of IMAX experience in Atlantic Canada. In addition to the IMAX, this theater boasts 17 normal sized screens and six 3D screens, where you can see the latest Hollywood offerings. Claimed to be the biggest movie exhibitors in this part of the world, this theater immerses its audience into the world of motion pictures with its state-of-the-art audio and visual devices. The place buzzes with video games and a huge snack counter. If you want to make a day of shopping and viewing, Scotiabank Theatre Halifax is a good choice since it is located near dozens of major stores.
