Avon City’s iconic landmark, the Haunted Bridge, boasts an eerie legend. Built across the White Lick Creek, this bridge was designed by engineer W.M. Dunne. According to local retellings, one of the workers working on the bridge collapsed and fell into a cement vat. His fellow workers attempted to reach him but could not save him from sinking in the vat. Despite hearing his repeated knocks and screams, the bridge's construction continued. Years after the bridge finished construction, locals claimed to hear moans and screams of the worker.
