Eleday Park

Jantar Mantar

Le Jantar Mantar est une fantastique collection d’instruments astronomiques planifiée par le souverain visionnaire de Jaipur, le maharaja Jai Singh II. Suite à la construction réussie du Jantar Mantar à Delhi, le maharaja fit bâtir le même à Jaipur, qui est également le plus grand observatoire de l’Inde. En 1901, les appareils furent restaurés avec du marbre blanc et du grès rouge pour une meilleure clarté de la mesure du temps. Jantar et Mantar signifient respectivement « instrument » et « calcul ». Le site de Jaipur abrite 16 instruments géométriques qui mesurent le temps à travers différentes dimensions comme la latitude, la longitude, la position du soleil, l’inclinaison de la planète et la déclinaison. Vous pourrez y admirer de petits cadrans solaires, des compas, le Jai Prakash Yantra (instrument), le Nadivalaya (hémisphères Nord et Sud), le Yantra Raj, le Rashi Valaya Yantra (signes solaires), ou encore le Rama Yantra, le Digmasa Yantra et le Chakra Yantra, qui mesurent tous le temps avec précision. Le plus grand du monde, ce cadran solaire de 44 mètres de hauteur constitue la plus grande attraction du Jantar Mantar. Pour le visiter, il est fortement recommandé de réserver un guide qui vous fournira des informations détaillées sur le centre. Lieu incontournable pour les historiens, les scientifiques, les artistes et les mathématiciens, le Jantar Mantar est également un endroit extrêmement éducatif et inspirant pour les personnes de tous horizons.

Science Park

An ingenious conception of the Department of Science and Technology of Rajasthan, the Science Park was built in 1998 to spread scientific knowledge and create environmental awareness among Jaipur's people. As you walk through the park you'll come across models explaining the various laws of science. Visitors here get acquainted with concepts like Newton's Law of Motion, gravity, conservation of energy and Kepler's law of celestial motion. The interactive displays, illusion-like effects, and three-dimensional mirror images at the 'Fun gallery' leave every visitor intrigued. Make sure you visit the mini-planetarium and the Information Technology gallery. Indeed, learning science was never this much fun! Please note this great attraction is closed on major holidays.

Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh

Maharaja Sawai Singhji fulfilled his beloved wife's desire to have a separate palace, by building this lush dreamscape of sorts in 1710. The Princess married the Maharaja only after he had promised to give the throne to her son. This palace outlined with trees and spacious courtyards is where their son, Maharajah Madho Singhji was born. He ruled the kingdom after the consecutive deaths of Maharaja Sawai Singhji and his elder step-brother Sawai Ishwar Singh. Currently Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh is open to everyone and allows visitors a chance to travel back in time while soaking in some splendid views. Named after the Maharani, this impeccably maintained palace, located amidst tranquil surroundings is perfect to spend time in solace. In the evenings, the Bagh is a sight to behold as the playful children of Jaipur splash in fountains interspersed with colors and lighting.

Jaipur Zoo

Checking out a little bit of wildlife after a day's tour of ancient forts and concrete structures is definitely a welcoming respite. Jaipur Zoo attracts animal lovers and nature enthusiasts to its well-maintained enclosure housing diverse species of wildlife. There are about 38 different species including 793 animals and birds.
