Seen in Los Angeles County, the Venice Canals are one of California’s most popular attractions. Comprising several winding canals, this picturesque neighborhood can be traversed using the many bridges and sidewalks, which also make for excellent vantage points. A fascinating feature of this neighborhood is the presence of docks outside the houses. Many houses also own a boat, allowing members to navigate the waterway. When in Los Angeles County, one simply cannot miss taking a stroll along the historic Venice Canals.

The Van de Kamp Bakery Building is a local landmark that dates back to 1930. The building was constructed upon a Dutch Renaissance Revival design that mimicked the typical layout of 16th-century Dutch farmhouse. The building served as the central production facility for Van de Kamp's chain of bakery shops. For a time, Van de Kamp's Bakeries were renown for their distinctive windmill-inspired design and delicious baked treats across the west coast. Although Van de Kamp's bakery empire eventually collapsed in 1990, the building still stands and is recognized by the city as a historical landmark. Today, the building is best known as the home of the Van de Kamp Innovation Center and the venue of the Artsy Flea Market. The market takes over the parking lot at the back of the building every Saturday and features a host of vendor stalls, food trucks and live music.
