Iroquois Cottage opened as a hotel in the 1870s. Its name was changed to Samoset Lodge sometime in the 1900s and it was a rundown wreck by the 1970s. The owners of Narragansett House had a vision, purchased the property, made major renovations and transformed the place back to its glory days past with antique furnishings, wood ceilings, stained glass windows and the original name.
