Nestled on the campus of the Collège Édouard-Montpetit, Théâtre de la Ville is the city's esteemed theater with more than 100 performances every year. Founded in 1989, it not only is a place of fascinating theater but also concerts, storytelling, dance, comedy and cabaret. Though its main venues are the Salle Pratt & Whitney Canada and Salle Jean-Louis Millette for shows, the other spaces such as the Foyer Jean-Louis-Millette and Salon Héroux Devtek are used for smaller private events. The entire theater or parts of it can be rented for various occasions.
Just outside the city of Montreal, the Îles-de-Boucherville National Park is a green space that's bursting with life. Encircled by the waters of the St. Lawrence River, this island retreat spans an area of just 8.14 square kilometers (3.14 square miles). Although modest in size, the national park is nonetheless a thriving oasis that supports a remarkable diversity of marine, avian and animal species. Its channels abound in fish, while the isles themselves shelter over 200 varieties of birds. Grasslands and forests interwoven with narrow channels and streams make up the spectacular scenery of the Îles-de-Boucherville National Park. Opportunities for both winter and summer activities are also aplenty at the Îles-de-Boucherville, with everything from snowshoeing and hiking to cycling, camping, and fishing to choose from.
