I Dream of Weenie might actually be the most creative and unusual restaurant stand in all of Nashville. This free-standing hot dog shack is actually a renovated vintage VW bus with a small wooden deck attached. I Dream of Weenie relishes (condiment-pun intended) its unusual appearance and even offers T-shirts that share the company name. The hotdogs themselves are very tasty and are offered with a variety of different toppings and chips. The service and prices are both excellent, but the real treat is the experience of the place.
Mere Bulles is a rare combination of elegance, exquisite cuisine and Southern charm. Located in a renovated Southern mansion in Brentwood, guests at Mere Bulles experience a fine dining experience from antebellum Charleston. From the menu to the decor to the fine linen napkins, a meal at Mere Bulles is more than memorable. Guests can enjoy starters such as She-Crab Bisque - a chowder which is nearly impossible to find outside of Charleston - as well as entrees which range from the Southern staple Shrimp and Grits to more elegant dishes such as Herb-Crusted Salmon or Seared Jumbo Scallops. As seating is limited and demand is high, it is best to plan ahead and make reservations. The experience is worth the trouble. -Lynn-nore Chittom
Campione's Taste of Chicago offers customers in Nashville the treat of an authentic Chicago beef stand. The Chicago-style beef samwiches - spelled just the way they say it in Chi-caw-go - are the perfect combination of thinly sliced lean roast beef, Italian spices, peppers and Italian bread. The menu also includes a daily selection of pasta offerings by Mama Campione herself. In addition to samwiches and pasta, Campione's is also a great place to pick up a Chicago style hot dog or Wrigley Field chili dog. This local spot is owned by native Chicagoists and their authentic menu does a pretty decent job of bringing the flavors of Windy City home to Music City. -Lynn-nore Chittom
The selection of beers here is simply amazing. There are over 70 brews on tap and over 150 different bottles available. There is live music most nights of the week. Bar food favorites like burgers are also available.
Ka've Express is easy to miss with its small drive-thru location, but well worth it for those with a close eye. Located along Gallatin Road near the intersection of Gallatin Road and Imperial Boulevard, Ka've Express is the perfect place for a flavorful, caffeinated boost. Their menu is extensive and seems to include every possible option for coffee lovers. The prices and service are fantastic and the coffee hits the spot. With such a large menu, it may take a couple of visits to find your favorite flavor. -Lynn-nore Chittom
