Kampen Bistro is an informal, cozy and cheap café-restaurant in the old working-class area of Kampen. The interior is as diverse as the menu: all chairs and tables are different, and the food is Norwegian, Pakistani and continental. You can have everything from beef or cod to chicken dabo and all kinds of soups and salads. In the summer, people from all over town come here to enjoy a cold beer on the terrace. This place is within walking distance of the Munch museum that shows the work of famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch; or if you like, you could go for a swim at the great Tyenbadet outdoor baths, nearby.
Oslo has several soccer teams, but it is only Vålerenga that is able to make people raise their voices, shake their heads in disgust, cry or laugh. Through years of scandals this working-class team has been able to come back again and again. Their fans, called "the Clan," populate a few pubs around town, Bohemen being one of them. Several TV screens make sure that everyone who has an interest in soccer is able to get a good view; the beer is cheap, and the atmosphere open and welcoming. If you want to see what real Norwegian soccer fans look like, Bohemen is the place to go.
Diplomas, certificates and prizes from all over the world line the walls of this downtown haute cuisine restaurant. Owner Freddie Nielsen, one of Norway's most celebrated restaurateurs, received his education and inspiration in France - a fact which becomes evident as soon as you peruse the menu. The owners promise to seduce their guests with the finest foods; indeed, creative playfulness is a key concept. Hungry guests should try the seven-course grand menu.

In the past, performers like Coverkill, Drømmere & Drankere, Tony Carey and several others have performed to a packed house at Buddy Scene. Make sure you keep an eye on its schedule so that you do not miss out on the concerts of your favorite artists or bands.
Dr. Kneipp's is something of a misnomer since it is a popular wine bar inspired by a famous German doctor. Don't let the name delude you from enjoying the fabulous wines from all over the world especially Italian. This cozy bar was established in 1991 and conceptualized after the Italian Enoteca, where the best of wines is offered at an affordable price along with food that complements the drink. With over 400 brands, good food and an unpretentious atmosphere, the wine bar is a local favorite, hence reservations are mostly not accepted here. You can linger here as long as you want to with great wine and food for company.
