The historic Schinkelkirche of Petzow was constructed in 1841 and has since remained remarkably well-preserved. The church is a lovely example of historic religious architecture and attracts many an admiring glance. Although the Schinkelkirche Petzow is no longer an active place of worship, it remains a popular choice for weddings and baptisms. Art exhibitions and musical concerts are also often hosted here.
One of the major lakes near the river Havel, Schwielowsee is a scenic lake holding commercial importance for several towns and villages. Spreading across 7.86 square kilometres (3.03 square miles), the lake has a depth of 9.1 metres (30 feet) and is relatively shallow. Used for fishing, water sports and recreation, its environs are surrounded by quaint villages like Caputh and Ferlow where locals and tourists often visit the lakeside for picnics and outings, owing to its picturesque surrounds.
The Nauen Freilichtbühne is all about rock music. Located on the Park street, this open-air venue is a dedicated stage to all forms of rock events, be it live bands or a complete festival. This green stretch is located in the heart of the city making it easily accessible and at the same time an excellent outdoor stage. Local as well international rock performers have graced this venue with their presence. So when in Nauen, head straight to this Freilichtbuhne for some real head banging.
