The Pink Door

No signs lead to this romantic hideaway near Pike Place Market, but when you see the pink door itself, you'll know you've arrived. On a sunny day you can sit outside on the rooftop deck, where shorts, sunglasses and lively chatter run rampant and everyone seems rejuvenated by the awesome backdrop of Elliot Bay. The rustic Italian cuisine includes a variety of delicious pastas and specials. The Cioppino and the spinach stuffed pork loin are especially good. The restaurant features cabaret and other live entertainment. Please call ahead for hours.

Alibi Room

Situated down a cobblestone alley by Pike Place Market, this little restaurant called Alibi Room attracts members of the film and arts crowd. The arty two-story restaurant has wooden tables and chairs, with a private room and bar downstairs. Subdued lights and cozy seating lend an intimate vibe to the place. A bookcase near the entrance is filled with play and movie scripts for browsing. On weekends, some of the city's top DJs spin thumping dance beats to the crowd of dancers. The food is healthy Mediterranean, featuring sandwiches, pasta and salads for lunch. Dinners include red beans and rice, grilled beef tenderloin and seared salmon.

Neumos

Winding your way out to the spacious main performance room, and it is easy to see why countless Seattleites have fallen in love with this venue. Reinvented in honor of the 90s staple Moe's Mo' Rockin' Café, which hosted now famous bands like Radiohead and The Flaming Lips, this venue is hot with up-and-coming artists. See bands like Camera Obscura, Band of Horses and Animal Collective, or attend any one of their popular hip-hop nights that often turn into a dance competition. Smaller than the local venue The Show Box, but larger than the Crocodile Café, this fills an important gap in Seattle's music scene.

Chop Suey

American rock blends with Chinese kitsch at this popular hangout Chop Suey, a combination leading hipster crowds to flock in to hear their favorite bands perform. Red lanterns, dark wood, and a pagoda-styled stage lend a mysterious air to the interior, where some of Seattle's hottest local groups play side-by-side with nationally touring performers. With large dance floors, extensive bars, and seductive lounge-rooms, Chop Suey offers more of a nightclub atmosphere than many comparable venues, making it a multi-functional stage where fans of rock music feel just as at home as those seeking the mellow beats of the hottest electronica groups. The calendar is full of performances, so be sure to check out the website for the latest updates and information on age restrictions for each night.

Caspian

Experience Persian hospitality, cuisine and entertainment all in one at Caspian. Try the ghormeh sabzi, a delectable beef and bean stew; or try one of Caspian's signature kabobs, served with Basmati rice, hummus and baked beans. Diners always mention the lovely modern decor as a highlight. Belly dancing on Saturday nights make this a great option for a group night out. Reservations are recommend, as tables fill up fast.

Century Ballroom

This beautiful mid-20th Century Ballroom boasts one of the largest dance floors in Seattle. With 2,000 square feet, there's plenty of room for everyone. Take lessons in salsa, lindy hop and East Coast swing, starting with the basics. Once you've got your moves, you're ready to attend the ballroom's full range of dance events, held year-round. The ballroom allows no smoking, and is restricted to those over 21. An on site cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Refuel your rhythmic body at the cafe on the premises.
