Ybor City Museum State Park is a terrific museum that educates you on the Ybor and Tampa cities history. An inexpensive museum that provides information about the Italian bakery that baked Cuban breads and the cigar making industry. You can browse through the cigar maker's home, bakery and visit the ornamental garden that has certain rules and regulations. A great place to have a private events and a social gathering. For a fun-filled sightseeing excursion around town, hop on a Segway at Magic Carpet Glide located in Channelside near Ybor City and downtown Tampa. Included in the tour is a 20-minute training class to instruct riders on how to maneuver the Segway and safety policies. The one and a half hour or two hour tour touches on all the interesting points of interest including Harbour Island, Davis Island, Channelside, and the long expanse of the scenic Bayshore Boulevard with its beautiful homes overlooking the bay. Tours can be reserved for two to more guests at a time and take place three times a day at 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 5:30pm. Riders must be 12 years of age or older. - Vickie Ferguson

Take to the sidewalks of the historic area and glide past museums, restaurants, vintage stores, cigar shops and cafes serving café con leche. Choose from three tours full of interesting sights, sounds, and aromas of the Latin Quarter. Segway your way on the Riverwalk tour, Historic Ybor City tour, or the Cigar and Café con Leche tour. Enjoy picnicking, canoeing, fishing, trail hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding at Edward Medard Park and Reservoir. Open daily from 6am until sunset, the park provides the perfect place for a family outing or a relaxing respite. Edward Medard has tent, primitive, and RV camping sites, picnic shelters, grills, playground equipment, and plenty of trails for hiking and riding. A boardwalk and pier connect the park to an observation tower across the broad expanse of the reservoir.
