À deux pas de la Gallerie dell'Accademia, sur le Grand Canal, se trouve l’un des meilleurs musées de Venise. Punta della Dogana is a stunning art gallery located on the triangular piece of land that separates the Grand Canal from the Giudecca Canal. Set in the former customs house, a beautiful 17th-century building, this gallery houses the permanent collection of world's numero uno art collector, Francois Pinault. Here, you will find his famous personal collection, besides several other exhibits pertaining to contemporary art.

Historic landmarks come a dime a dozen in Venice, but Torre dell'Orologio (clock tower) is a bit more legendary than most. Centrally located at the entrance to one of the city's oldest marketplaces, the looming structure has stood watch over generations and generations of busy Venetians. By appointment only, visitors can enter the hulking monolith, ascend its stairways, to learn about the complex inner workings of the ancient clock and take in some astounding views of the neighborhood below.

The Teatro Goldoni has gone through several changes over the years and is a spot frequented by locals as well as visitors. Named after the 18th Century dramatist Carlo Goldoni, it actually began as Teatro San Luca, way back in 1622. With a seating capacity of 800, Teatro Goldini is known for the diverse range of performances it hosts throughout the year. Al Vapore, the small music venue is located right off the mainland-side of the bridge to Venice in Marghera, which is directly on the other side of the tracks from the train station in Mestre. They very often host international jazz acts and world-class music concerts. Folks from all over the region come to Al Vapore to hear good live music in an intimate setting. It's one of the few places in Mestre where the entire family can enjoy a cultural entertainment and some tasty Italian grub.
