The Massaro Community Farm is a certified organic farm, which is spread over an area of 57 acres (23 hectares) in the beautiful town of Woodbridge. The farm is dedicated to farming activities and produces fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey etc, it believes in feeding people and building a strong community, which helps in enhancing the quality of life of the present and future generations. Apart from a farm there is a children’s garden and nature trails to explore. They also offer children and adults farming related education and organize several community events every year. Visitors can enjoy field trips and guided tours, and the entry fee varies according to the activity undertaken.

One of the state's best places to get an apple pie or pick-your-own fruit, Lyman Orchards offers fresh, local produce at great prices. There are a slew of annual events at the Orchards, starting with the Apple Hunt at Easter, where the Easter Bunny puts aside his candy for some healthy apples. During the summer months, there is the Sunflower Maze, and then if visiting in September and October, stop by the Corn Maze, which is spread across four acres of property. Marsh Botanical Garden is situated within the precincts of Yale University. Its name pays tribute to Othniel Charles Marsh, who bestowed this property upon the university. Beatrix Farrand planned the landscape of the garden that houses a wide variety of plant species. Faculty, students, nature lovers, researchers and many other visitors head to this botanical gardens that has four greenhouses, perennial beds, seasonal plants and much more.

For just a moment you might think you are in an exclusive French winery, elegant and inviting, but you are at the Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, about just north of exit 63 on I-95, about a half-hour drive east of New Haven. Situated between the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, this winery has been producing award winning Chardonnays and other wines since 1983. Its wines are carried in hundreds of stores throughout Connecticut and appear on select menus in Manhattan. Before or after a tour of the winery, stop at the nearby Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets.

The green in Milford, located just outside of New Haven, is a popular meeting space and event venue conveniently located off of I-95. This traditional New England-style green has a bandstand, Civil War monument and special events throughout the year.
