Stepping Stones is a home known to have belonged to Bill and Lois Wilson, the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon/Alateen respectively. Built in Colonial Revival in the year 1920, the historic house has been listed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places. Today it is open to the general public where you will see a large number of valuables on display that once belonged to the couple. It is now under the ownership of the Stepping Stones Foundation where in with the help of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation they host a picnic for A.A and non-A.A members.
Considering themselves as not just a particular activity park, but a complete recreational park, the Gateway National Recreational Park is historic and lies in a condensed urban environment and still manages to offer a variety of activities like boating, hiking, swimming, bird watching and camping. This beauty was built to preserve the exclusivity of nature and culture and the recreational resources.
