Best Shopping Districts in Frankfurt am Main

, 6 Options Found

Schillerstraße is a street full of activities all through the day. Shopping here is a sheer pleasure since there are all kinds of stores here. Branded products, as ell as local knick-knacks are all available. The weekly market held here attracts many people who come to grab some fresh grocery and produce. Once you're tired out from all that shopping, you can take a break at one of the many cafes along the street.

Busy with shoppers and tourists, Berger Street is one of the busiest streets in Frankfurt. Shopping in this part of the city is fun, as there are plenty of options to choose from. From individual stores to branches of popular franchises, no matter what you are looking for, you will find it at this prime shopping district. Local weekly markets like the Bornheimer Wochenmarkt keeps this place abuzz. Barbecue restaurants and bistros too attract many patrons and other visitors. Other shops and service providers like barber shops and pharmacies are also located along this long stretch of road.

Oeder Weg runs through the heart of Nordend and is the district's main shopping street. The road is busy but not too noisy, and there is plenty of choice of places to spend your cash: dozens of boutiques, bakeries, butchers and off-licenses as well as several pubs and restaurants. Tourists seldom venture here, but it is well worth the trip just to see how the locals really live. After a stroll down Oeder Weg, you could head to nearby Holzhausen Park for a bit of rest and relaxation.

Goethestraße is Frankfurt's equivalent of Fifth Avenue or Oxford Street, although distinctly smaller and less crowded. This part of the city, between Alte Oper and Roßmarkt, is devoted to pretty much one thing: fashion! The street is lined by chic boutiques run by the world's greatest designers: Cartier, Chanel, Burberry, Jil Sander, Versace, Thierry Mugler and Tiffany, to name a few. No wonder it is Germany's third busiest luxury shopping street. Perfect for fashion lovers!

The famous shopping district of Zeil, stretching almost a mile, is arguably one of the best shopping arenas in Frankfurt. Since most popular brands, department store chains and malls are located here, you will get everything here; from designer wear to daily groceries, it's all here! A must-visit is the Zeilgalerie where one can get a spectacular view of the city and Taunus mountains. Apart from shopping, the area also houses numerous cafes and restaurants. Another special feature of Zeil is the bi-weekly growers' market on Thursdays and Saturdays, wherein home-made products such as cheeses, wines, sauces etc. are sold at a steal. Whether you're a traveler looking for souvenirs, a local getting groceries or a teenager looking for great clothes and makeup, this is the place to be.

This multicultural shopping arcade leads from Steinweg to Große Bockenheimer Straße and is just a stone's throw away from Frankfurt's main shopping street, the Zeil. As well as a Thai restaurant, you will find several Asian shops and delicatessens selling goods such as tea, jewelry, gifts and other Asian wares. There are also fashions for men and women, plus children's clothing, toys, furniture and stationery.
