Marktplatz (Market Square)

The Marktplatz, or Market Square, of Fredericksburg is centered around the historic Vereins Kirche, just off highway 290. The park's grassy lawns invite visitors to relax and enjoy a few moments of peace beneath the shade of a tree, while children are sure to be drawn to the playground and its many attractions. The park also features sheltered pavilions for private parties, a seasonal ice-skating rink, and picnic spots where you can enjoy a leisurely meal with family and friends. As you stroll through the gardens, take a moment to admire the historic facade of the octagonal church. Concerts, fairs and festivals are often hosted at the Marktplatz, alongside the annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
