Römische Badruine

The Römische Badruine are well-preserved Roman bath ruins in Badenweiler. One of the most significant of its kind in the country, it justifies Badenweiler’s history as a spa town and offers a glimpse into the Roman bathing culture that prevailed during the reign of the Roman Empire. The ruins were excavated in 1784 by Margrave Carl Friedrich von Baden and are sheltered by a glass roof. Take a tour of the monumental site and explore several exhibitions showcasing accessories, models and memorabilia.

Schluchsee

Schluchsee is a Lake located close to the town of Schluchsee. It is one of the largest lakes in the Black Forest, is marked today by the high wall of the dam. A popular tourist attraction, the reservoir lake provides visitors plenty of opportunities for sailing and swimming.

Kaiser-Joseph-Straße is one of the most significant streets in Freiburg im Breisgau. The street, named for Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II, comprises of several travel routes. The road is home to numerous attractions in Freiberg, including Albrecht-Ludwig-Brunnen and many business establishments, restaurants and boutiques. Stretching to about 900 meters (2953 feet) in length, Kaiser-Joseph-Straße begins at Siegesdenkmal and joins the Humboldtstraße and Adelhauser Straße towards south.

Kaiserstühler WG Ihringen

Kaiserstuhl's volcanic landscape lends it an almost-Mediterranean atmosphere for its sweeping vineyards to thrive. It is here that the Ihringen winery is located. Schwabentor

The Swabian Gate or Schwabentor is located at the fork of Oberlinden and Greiffeneggring. The iconic tower dates back to 1200s and has been renovated several times over the years, but the most significant change was when its size was almost doubled, in 1902, based on the designs of Carl Schäfer. Featuring an onion dome and painter Fritz Geiges' rendition of St. George, the dragon-slaying patron saint of Freiburg im Breisgau, the exteriors of the Schwabentor are quite impressive. Also found here is a private museum called Zinnfigurenklause. It narrates the history of the region with the help of tin figurines that number over 9,000 artifacts.
