"Trains from the Bygone Era"
Gerolstein train station officially came into existence in the year 1870. Lokschuppen Gerolstein was built between 1912 and 1913 and this historic roundhouse was declared a national monument in the year 1995. Covering an area of 380,00 square meters (409028.6 square feet), it houses a number of vintage trains. Adjacent to the railway tracks lies a sprawling beer garden, complete with a canopy-style seating area and a fountain. Apart from functioning as a history museum, Lokschuppen also serves as a thriving venue for live-in concerts, comedy shows and other well-curated performances. Past performances include some memorable renditions by Tom Beck, Janis Joplin, Johann König and Kay Ray, among many others.
