Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center

Take a look at the paintings, souvenirs, weapons and the military’s uniforms at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center. This museum will acquaint you with the Gettysburg battle fought in 1863. At the entrance of the center, the visitors will come across a life-size statue of Abraham Lincoln that was built with the collaboration of an artist and an architect. As you proceed inside, you can avail information about the Cyclorama, a colossal painting depicting the war, the film and the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War. A bookstore at the center stocks a very interesting collection of historical books and on several occasions also gives discounts. The proceeds collected from the visitors are used for the preservation of the museum and the battlefield.
