This covered bridge was utilized in the Battle of Gettysburg that was fought during the American Civil War. This 100-feet (30 meters) long town truss bridge was built in the year 1854. It was designed by the renowned architect, Ithiel Town. Over the decades, this historic bridge has been restored several times.
