Gettysburg National Cemetery

Gettysburg National Cemetery is home to the graves of soldiers who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Here you will also find graves of veterans who lost their lives during World War I and the Spanish-American War. Located within the perimeters of the Gettysburg National Military Park, this site is of historic significance owing to the events which transpired here during the battles. Spread across an area of 17 acres (6.9 hectares), this cemetery is scattered with thousands of graves, multiple memorials, markers and monuments.

Little Round Top

A significant and historically important site pertaining to the Battle of Gettysburg, Little Round Top is visited by many. Locals and tourists alike make the hike up the sloping inclines of this hill to immerse themselves in the history which still lingers here.

Shriver House Museum

Visitors get to live a piece of history when they take a tour of the Shriver House. The Battle of Gettysburg made a deep impact on the lives of the people in Gettysburg and the Shivers family was one of the many who were affected. This abandoned house was a witness to the family's distress and it speaks for all the other civilians in the city. The house has been carefully preserved and is home to several historic gems like old letters, a beautiful garden, toys belonging to Sadie and Mollie Shivers, Shriver's Saloon and more. The house is maintained immaculately and all of the restoration work was carried out privately.

Sachs Covered Bridge

The elegant Sachs Covered Bridge that stretches across the Marsh Creek dates back to the 1850s. This covered bridge was utilized in the Battle of Gettysburg that was fought during the American Civil War. This 100-feet (30 meters) long town truss bridge was built in the year 1854. It was designed by the renowned architect, Ithiel Town. Over the decades, this historic bridge has been restored several times.

Gettysburg National Military Park

With a large number of monuments and places of interest, a trip to the Gettysburg National Military Park can be a truly educative and knowledgeable experience for everyone, be it kids or adults. This is the place from where President Lincoln had made his famous Gettysburg address. This is also the place where the Battle of Gettysburg had taken place during the American Civil War. Visitors can stroll around the park campus, or visit various museums, quarters, cemeteries of soldiers and many more places within. Various activities, concerts and celebrations are also held in the park.

Gettysburg Museum of History

Featuring a series of exhibits and informative displays pertaining to the incidents which occurred in the past, this history museum paints a vivid picture of events like the World Wars and the American Civil War. It also houses memorabilia which details the lives of figures like Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy among others.
