"Quiet Suburban Village"
The settlement in the area that would later be known as, ‘Glenview’, can be credited to farmers, who came to exploit the rich soil and natural resources available here. Originally named South Northfield, the name, ‘Glenview’ was given by the Chicago & Milwaukee Railroad in 1872, and the village residents retained the name when the village was incorporated in 1899. Today, Glenview is more of a modern town, with various shopping centers and malls scattered across its land. A pleasant place to visit, and located just about 30 minutes from Chicago, Glenview is definitely worthy of a place on your itinerary.
