Barrington Tops National Park

Best known for its diverse rainforest, Barrington Tops National Park is one of the most ecologically important and visually stunning destinations in Australia. It belongs to the World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests, which comprise the largest area of subtropical rainforest anywhere on earth. Barrington Tops National Park also plays host to the majority of the planet's Antarctic beech cool temperate rainforest. Fossils have helped map the history of this spectacular region, taking it from its origins as a traditional Aboriginal territory to its current status as a haven for an extensive array of wildlife. Animals guaranteed to be spotted include barking owls, pademelons, quoll, platypus, kookaburras, echidnas, kangaroos, and plenty of birds.
