"Petrified Woodland"

Pobiti Kamani is a collection of strange and unique rock formations in Bulgaria, molded in the Cenozoic Era, in the shape of stone chimneys. The columns seem to have been hammered straight into the ground. Located 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) from the Black Sea, the sands of Pobiti Kamani cover an area of around seven square kilometers (1730 acres). These unnatural petrified limestone pillars are attributed with numerous spiritual legends and folklore.
