Located 6400 feet (1951 meters) above sea level, LeConte Lodge is a one-of-a-kind accommodation nestled just below the summit of Mount Le Conte inside the Smoky Mountains National Park. While there are no roads leading up to the lodge, five hiking trails lead you to this haven. The lodge makes for a perfect stopover en route to the summit, and guests can re-fuel with a good night's sleep and a full meal in the dining room before getting on further. The 50 log cabins offer stunning, unmatched views of the Smokies and surrounding areas. Amenities are basic yet functional, and include propane heating, kerosene lanterns, woolen blankets, and clean linens.
