Santa Teresa

"Catholic Church"

The construction of this beautiful temple started in 1816. It was refurbished after being partially destroyed by the earthquake of 1976. The church still remains, but the convent disappeared after the expropriation that took place during General Justo Rufino Barrios' government. It was later converted into a women's prison. Today it is the headquarters for the Red Cross. Confessions take place during the mass services, or you can ask the priest at any other time when you visit the church.
