"Guwahati's Sports Hub"

Opened in 2007, the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium is one of the major sports venues in the country. Also known as the Sarusajai Stadium, it has played host to some of the most significant national and international sporting events. The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, 33rd National Games of India and South Asian Games were held here. With a capacity of 23,850, it managed to accommodate a crowd of 32,844 during an Indian Super League match played between Chennaiyin F.C. and the home team NorthEast United F.C. Constantly upgrading its infrastructure, the stadium has been appreciated by the locals and tourists alike.
