Established in 2012, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium is located in Guwahati, Assam. The venue is primarily used to conduct cricket tournaments and is equipped with state of the art facilities. Currently managed by the Assam Cricket Association, the stadium serves as the home ground for Assam Cricket Team and has hosted several tournaments at a national level. Opened in 2007, the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium is one of the major sports venues in the country. Also known as the Sarusajai Stadium, it has played host to some of the most significant national and international sporting events. The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, 33rd National Games of India and South Asian Games were held here. With a capacity of 23,850, it managed to accommodate a crowd of 32,844 during an Indian Super League match played between Chennaiyin F.C. and the home team NorthEast United F.C. This local history museum is known as the Assam State Museum and is a must visit while touring the state of Assam. The museum showcases collections in various genres such as local culture and history, anthropology, and folk art alongside various sculptures made from stone, wood, metal and terracotta. Visit the Epigraphy section which consists of articles having stone and copper inscriptions from the 5th - 18th Centuries. It was established in the year 1940 by the Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti.
