Horseshoe Bay Beach

Named for its identifiable shape, Horseshoe Bay Beach is perhaps the most famous public beach in Bermuda. Tourists relish the feel of burying their toes in soft sand that has been tinted pink by shells ground into fine powder by the waves. The bright sunshine allows visitors to lay down under the hot island sun and work on their tan. Although quite restful, Horseshoe Bay Beach is also a great place for beach activities. The refreshing turquoise waters provide avid swimmers with the opportunity to wade through the tranquil waves. Another appealing feature of the beach is its close proximity to the beach cafe where visitors can relax and unwind as they catch their breath after an exhilarating time. Owing to the clear visibility underwater, snorkeling is a popular activity, and tourists can rent the necessary equipment here. Kayaking is also indulged in. Other amenities at Horseshoe Bay Beach include changing rooms, showers, and rest rooms, along with umbrellas and chairs.

Tobacco Bay

Tobacco Bay gives way to a small but stunning beach that sets just the right scene for a romantic retreat or family outing. Perfect for swimmers of all ages and experience levels, it offers excellent snorkeling around the rocky coastline. Schools of parrotfish, angelfish, blue wrasse, and sergeant majors swim these crystal clear waters, creating an underwater landscape that is as captivating as the shore itself. There is a pavilion nearby that serves snacks and drinks, as well as changing rooms and places to rent water sports equipment. A little slice of paradise, the relaxing beach at Tobacco Bay is certainly one worth exploring.

Crystal & Fantasy Caves

Two teenagers discovered the Crystal and Fantasy Caves in 1907 after losing a cricket ball down a hole on what was then just a family property. Today, the natural wonder offers an extraordinary example of stalagmite and stalactite formations, attracting hordes of adventurous tourists each year. A pontoon bridge at the site allows hikers and tours to cross the subterranean pools of crystal clear waters that sit at the foot of the caves. The paths winding through the caves veer off towards the waterways running through the caverns. A sub-tropical garden containing towering palm trees and a variety of floral species is situated outside the caves. Among the biggest attractions in Bermuda, the Crystal and Fantasy Caves are an excellent way for visitors to get in touch with their outdoorsy side and commune with nature. Those looking to extend their visits will enjoy stopping for a bite at the site's Cafe Ole and perusing the gift shop.

Church Bay

A bit off the beaten path, this beach is located on the southwestern point of the Bermuda coast and is famous for its snorkeling opportunities. Its advantageous position blocks the bay from some of the rougher ocean waves. As a result, the waters remain calm, lapping at the sparkling shore. The clear visibility underwater allows for some exhilarating scuba diving. Tourists can also admire the coral reef in the vicinity which is overrun by vibrant and colorful fishes. While visitors can rent snorkel gear at the beach, they are usually encouraged to pack a picnic as there are fewer amenities here than elsewhere on the island. That it is secluded, quiet, and absolutely beautiful makes Church Bay Beach a particularly nice place for couples.

Warwick Long Bay

This long, sandy beach tends to be quieter and more secluded than the neighboring Horseshoe Bay Beach. While this makes for peaceful outings, it's important to note that the waters are subject to riptides like many South Shore beaches. While swimming is a popular activity here, be sure to take precautions when the currents are stronger, particularly by checking for warning flags. Those that prefer to stay on land will enjoy watching sanderlings scuttle across the shore, and in the summer, birdwatchers will have plenty of opportunity to see iconic longtails. You can also follow cliff trails, bordered by Bermuda cedars and bay grape trees, for fun hiking excursions. Enjoy some fun in the sun at Warwick Long Bay!

Jobson's Cove Beach

A turquoise paradise, this sheltered cove is characterized by magical scenery and gentle waters. It offers a safe place to swim and enjoy aquatic activities; you might even catch a glimpse of parrotfish and sergeant majors splashing about even without any snorkeling equipment. An excellent spot for families, particularly those with children in tow, the beach features a number of breathtaking places where you can set up camp for the day. You can also enjoy picnics here or soak in the sun on its sandy shores. If you want to know what it's like to spend an afternoon in a postcard, head to Jobson's Cove Beach and prepare to be awed.
