Spread over 232 hectares (573.28 acres) Crawford Lake Conservation Area, is a wonderful to escape from your daily life and feel oneness with nature. The grounds are home to a heritage site, an interpretive lookout and a replication of the Iroquois community from the 15th Century. A beautiful path around the lake, trails for hiking and skiing are also located here.

A sizable cover of forest, wetlands and ponds, this is where you can experience and connect with nature in its purest forms. Explore the woods with a walk through the winding trails, and if you're luck you might even spot some of its native wildlife. Taquanyah Nature Centre also organizes environmental awareness and educational programs for children and adults.
Highlighting the glorious history of Haldimand County, this museum is located to the north of Cayuga. Haldimand County Museum and Archives is located on a historical site with the gently flowing Grand River in the backdrop. An 1835-log cabin, that once belonged to the Nicholas family, is also located on the grounds. The museum features a huge collection of artifacts and memorabilia, that were owned by the natives, as well as various traveling exhibits. The archive features an extensive collection of records which is sure to satisfy every researcher.
Shade's Mills Park (GRCA) is a well-preserved stretch of hardwood forests with winding trails, a lake fit for canoeing, boating and fishing and a cross-country trail for snowshoeing and skiing in the winter months. You can book the picnic grounds for a huge family picnic or an outing from your workplace. You can even come alone and spend hours hiking, biking or fishing for pike, bass and yellow perch or ice-fishing in the winter. The park also has facilities for disc golf and volleyball.
