Red Sand Beach

Tucked away on Kaihalulu Bay, the Red Sand Beach is a gorgeous pocket beach, quite hidden away from the eyes of the regular tourists. Kept safe from the rough ocean waves by an offshore reef, the beach’s calm waters make it perfect for swimming, though it's the lack of crowds that is an attraction for most. One of the few beaches in the world comprising of red sand, the scenic hidden gem also boasts of clear blue waters, green ironwood trees and a black sea wall, creating quite a dramatic landscape. Requiring a short albeit treacherous hike, the beach usually finds itself quite isolated and is a haven for those looking for a scenic getaway. Note that the trail to the beach is best-avoided during the rains.
