Kiwanis Club Park is spread over 3.8 acres (1.54 hectares) of land and is ideal for a fun day out. This level wooded park features a basketball court for you to practice the game with your friends. Apart from this, it houses a playground with playground equipments for children making it a good family hangout spot.
Elk Run Cemetery houses the graves of the martyrs of the American Civil War. Spread across 23 acres, this cemetery is maintained by the Public Works Department for the Town of Elkton. About 48 Confederate soldiers are buried here. There also exists a 'slave graveyard' that is made distinct by a stone inscription. A walk down the Elk Run Cemetery takes you back to the savagery that war brought with it. The prominent Miller Kite House is just a few yards away. Call the Public Works Department for more details.
The Bergton Fairgrounds, situated on Crab Run Road in Rockingham County, is a venue for various festivals and fairs. The Main Building of the Mary Baldwin College was constructed in 1844 in the Greek Revival architecture style. This building is now known as Administration Building and initially served the entire campus of the college. Its architectural design was used a reference point, and the additions to the campus were based on style of the Main Building.
