Arnold's white cinder-block building is almost an eyesore from the outside, with a farm-fence painted on the walls, but the diners don't seem to mind. A substantial crowd gathers here for breakfast and lunch. You might have to wait in line awhile, but the wait is worth it. Beef or pork is standard fare, and your choice is served with fresh vegetables, hot cornbread, iced tea, and decadent cream filled pies.
I Dream of Weenie might actually be the most creative and unusual restaurant stand in all of Nashville. This free-standing hot dog shack is actually a renovated vintage VW bus with a small wooden deck attached. I Dream of Weenie relishes (condiment-pun intended) its unusual appearance and even offers T-shirts that share the company name. The hotdogs themselves are very tasty and are offered with a variety of different toppings and chips. The service and prices are both excellent, but the real treat is the experience of the place.
Yokohama Japanese Grill offers guests delicious Japanese food at an affordable price in a casual and comfortable environment with excellent service. Although the location and exterior are rather unassuming, this is definitely a hidden gem in the greater Nashville area. Extremely popular with locals, this establishment has been in business for many years in the same location with a loyal following of regulars. Outstanding service, flavorful, authentic Japanese cuisine, terrific prices and plentiful portions make Yokohama a favorite spot for Japanese dining. Meals are prepared on a hibachi grill, but not table-side, as in some Japanese steakhouses. -Lynn-nore Chittom
Dos Margaritas offers guests traditional Mexican fare with excellent prices and fabulous service. The atmosphere is fun and festive with excellent and friendly service. During the warmer months, Dos Margaritas opens up a patio garden area where dinner is served and smoking is permitted. One of three locations in the greater Nashville area, Dos Margaritas in Hendersonville has sister spots in Gallatin and Clarksville. All of these locations are favored by locals. The chimichanga and chile relleno are particularly good and very reasonably priced. - Lynn-nore Chittom
Rio Bravo Mexican Grill is a great addition to mid-town Hendersonville. Located in the former Shoney's, the folks at Rio Bravo did a great job overhauling the space and providing Hendersonville with a convenient and delicious traditional Mexican grill. The atmosphere is very family oriented, and the menu includes something for everyone. Customers who visit on the right nights can enjoy the special treat of hearing and enjoying an authentic Mariachi band. A private party room is available for guests who need to schedule their very own Mexican fiesta. - Lynn-nore Chittom
88Kitchen fills a much needed void in the Greater Nashville area, a fantastic Asian buffet with enough choices to keep you coming back for more. In addition to the usual offerings like beef and broccoli, Asian style green beans, and lo mien noodles, 88Kitchen also includes such delicious options as coconut shrimp, stuffed crab, a sushi bar and every imaginable combination of Mongolian barbecue. Beyond the basic Asian cuisine, the buffet also offers a complete salad bar with treats from both East and West, such as a spicy calamari salad, as well as a limited selection of American favorites such as pizza, lasagna, fried chicken and garlic bread. 88Kitchen offers something for everyone and a plentiful selection of desserts and ice cream to finish off any meal. -Lynn-nore Chittom
The Horn is a small neighborhood café situated on Murfreesboro Pike. This café offers Somali Chai tea, and the famous Indian snack, samosa. However, don’t expect to taste authentic flavors as this snack comes with a unique cheesy twist at The Horn. Offerings are extremely reasonable and do not put much weight on your pocket.

You won't find an impressive decor in Rae's Gourmet Sandwich Shoppe, in fact if you don't look carefully, you may not find the shop at all. Located on the basement level of an office building on Union Street, this gourmet eatery has been delighting diners for years. Cajun-style favorites like Grilled beef tenderloin, po-boys and red beans and rice offer a spicy change of pace, and the Angus Beef & Cheddar sandwich is a hearty meal for people on the run. Wash it all down with iced tea, soft drinks or a cold beer. Special note—If you love the creative varieties of Zapp's potato chips, you have found the only place in town to buy them.

Americano Lounge features the European and American cultures that were prevalent during the 1930s. It was during this time that a new wave of cafes and cocktail bars emerged. The interiors are simple yet elegant and make you feel as though you have traveled back in time. Treat yourself to a delightful beverage and pair it with sweet or savory items like bacon and eggs, croissants and sandwiches. The Irish coffee, muffins and Turkish delights are highly recommended. The cozy vibe and friendly staff make you plan a revisit to this place soon enough.
The Subculture Urban Cuisine And Café, housed inside a well-known shopping center, is a charming place to stop for a coffee break. This lovely café, which serves some delectable sandwiches and Latin American cuisine, has maintained its own taste since it opened. The lovely American eatery, which has received numerous awards, is well-known for its burgers, pulled pork ramen, beef empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. The staff is nice and provides excellent service, and the setting is pleasant.
