"Island with a Single House"

Torsa is one of the Slate Islands in the Inner Hebrides archipelago. The last of its inhabitants, a farming community involved in the breeding of Luing cattle, left the island in the 1960s, leaving behind a single house and the ruin of a sixteenth century castle, Caisteal nan Con which later functioned as a hunting lodge. The single cottage existent on the island is now a farmhouse that is rented to visitors as a self-catering accommodation on a weekly basis, along with the option of a personal motor boat to navigate the various islands around the West Coast.
