Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum
"Historic Memorial"
To honor the people that lost their lives during the nuclear explosion carried out by the United States government in the year 1945, the Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum was opened in the year 2002. The school was one of the structures to be hit by the atomic bomb where 160 pupils along with teachers lost their lives. The museum is housed in the basement of the school where photographs and articles from the disaster have been kept on display.
