The Galleria

Wonderful shopping options are available all over Houston, but this is the perfect place to go for designer shops, unusual gifts, wonderful imports, or just plain fun. After an extensive renovation, the Galleria now has more than 400 stores, and it is certain to offer exactly what you need. Upscale shops include Gucci, Saks Fifth Avenue and Fendi. If you are more interested in art and culture, check out Arader Galleries. There are plenty of restaurants that cater to hungry shoppers, and the ice skating rink is a popular way to cool off.

Dimensions

Well-dressed women of the new millennium will undoubtedly continue to spend some of their hard-earned money in this store. The low prices and elegant styles are simply too good to resist. Casual styles are also available, but the store really excels at providing chic business attire. The line of accessories should not be ignored, either. You can typically pick up matching shoes, scarves, purses and more at prices that will be equally amazing.

Memorial City Mall

This mall has a lot to offer. Whether it is men's, women's or accessories or sports gear, you have lots of stores to choose from. If you get hungry while shopping you can grab a snack at one of the food or drink vendors or sit down in one of the restaurants and relax. Memorial City Mall also offers a 16-screen Cinemark movie theater; a Venetian-style, double-decker carousel; a custom-designed, 28-foot PlayCastle for kids; and an NHL-sized hockey and ice skating arena bordered by a six-story stone fireplace. Whether you are shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, or catching a movie, this mall offers it all.

Abejas Boutique

Word on the street is that Abejas ("bee" in Spanish) is the best place in town to pick up that stunning 22-carat rose-cut diamond bangle Halle Berry was wearing, your favorite Chrome Hearts sunglasses or an insanely gorgeous Gary Graham dress. Too steep for your budget? Not to worry. You can also pick up Christina Nicodemus' signature bee t-shirts for under $40. Pair one perfectly with Hudson jeans, and round it out with flip-flops handmade by a one-armed surfer out of L.A.

Thread

For fashion enthusiasts, dressing their children in stylish clothes is no less satisfying than getting dressed themselves, but who wants splurge so much when clothes are outgrown so quickly? Thread, a high-end children's boutique comes to your rescue by offering some of the best new as well as gently used branded clothes, toys, shoes, baby gear and much more for fast-growing babies, toddlers and youth. Some of their collection comprises names of prominent brands such as Baby Gap, Hanna Anderson, Kissy Kissy and Janie and Jack and you can also gather up gently used kids stuff and sell it over here for a good margin.

Harwin Shopping District

Head to Harwin Street and you will experience "guerrilla shopping" at its finest. Of course, the excursion is not actually hazardous, but you do need to be prepared to fight the crowds and do some hard-nosed haggling to get the best deal. Along the strip, more than 300 stores offer enough authentic and knockoff designer merchandise to make your head spin. Featuring purses, perfumes, watches, shoes and more, the area literally sells some of the best and worst goods the world has to offer. The two most noteworthy sections are the 9800 block and the 8000 block. Specific hours and credit card acceptance will vary by store.
