"A Preserver of Monuments"
Burritt On The Mountain is a picturesque open-air museum featuring one of the oldest houses in the area. The Burritt Mansion belonged to a physician named William Burritt. It is an eclectic piece of art with unconventional and bizarre design elements. The initial structure used straw as an insulator which became the cause of it being burnt down later. It was reconstructed in the following years. Today, the museum showcases several 19th-century houses as well as holds events and workshops.
