A house of history and heritage, the Fethiye Mosque is located in the Carsamba region of Fatih. This Istanbul mosque used to be the Pammakaristos Church. Belonging to Greek origins, it dates back to the 18th Century. Apart from serving as an institute of faith, the mosque also doubles up as a museum. It is often argued that there was another building on the same site that dated back to the 11th-12th centuries. Exhibiting the Palaiologan architectural style of Constantinople, the place is a famous site for tourists and locals. The interiors are decorated with beautiful paintings depicting religious figures.
