Çinili Köşk was built by Mehmed II (the Conqueror) and is beautifully covered with the finest examples of Turkish tile art. Originally built as a pleasure palace for the sultan, the mansion has been used as a museum from 1953 and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The museum boasts a commendable collection of Turkish and Islamic art, with over 2,000 exhibits belonging to the Seljuk and Ottoman eras.
