Although still very much a dive bar, Gold Diggers' new owners have done away with the venue's seedier undertones in favor of nostalgic touches that call to mind the glorious era of LA in the 80s. The DJ spins everything from metal to disco, depending on the night, pulling patrons onto the dance-floor for some spirited fun. The drinks are strong and the ambiance is fuss-free, making for a refreshing break from the better-known nightlife venues of LA. A little-known fact - prior to its stint as a strip club, Gold Diggers was Ed Wood's studio space. Live music is featured as well.
Located in the area known as Sunset Junction, between Silver Lake and Hollywood, 4100 Bar has become an integral part of east-sider nightlife. An apt place for the hipster, it attracts an eclectic crowd. With a red oblong bar in the middle of a spacious room and tables covered in intricate dragon patterns, the entire space adds to loquaciousness while a giant Buddha statue towers above and watches all.
The owners of this elegant nightclub know that art deco never goes out of style and the patrons frequenting the place seem to agree. Nightly live musical acts that mostly specialize in jazz range from the famous (Andrea Marcovicci) to the not-so-famous (your co-worker), but they all enjoy working the appreciative crowd close-up. Micky's is a popular gay dance club in West Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Monday nights feature the amazingly themed party with house, hip-hop and tribal music. Each day a different DJ spins tunes that will make you groove on the dance floor. Saturdays are the most popular night with dancing into the wee hours. Sundays feature more dancing, with tunes from the 60s to the present.
