CityLink Mall

The first of its kind in Singapore, the CityLink Mall with an area of 5,600 square meters (60,000 square foot) is a subterranean mall. The mall is brightly lit, seven metres (22.96 feet) wide and includes skylights that allow sunlight to splash in. The mall also helps commuters avoid the warm tropical weather, providing cool shelter to nearby places such as Suntec City Mall, Marina Square, Pan Pacific Hotel and the Civilian War Memorial. Tenants who call this spacious mall home include HMV, Dymocks, Fashion Connection UK, Shade, The Body Shop, Delifrance, Pacific Coffee Company and Adidas.

Marina Center, One Raffles Link, Singapore, Singapore, 039393
Marina Square

Sprawling over an area of seven football fields between the Marina Mandarin and The Oriental Singapore is the Marina Square. Anchored by Metro department store, it has an eclectic mix of bargain boutiques, entertainment venues and food outlets that generally draw a younger crowd. Be careful, though you might get lost in the passageways and windowless atrium's, in the midst of more than 220 shops and hordes of teenagers. Also scattered over the three stories are amusement centers for kids, dozens of cafes and restaurants for the famished and a choice of two cineplexes for film buffs.

6 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore, Singapore, 039594
Millenia Walk

Millenia Walk is renowned for its 15 pyramidal roofs lined with copper tiles and skylights. Housing more than 190 shops, this swanky mall is particularly popular amongst Japanese tourists who shop at Duty Free Galleria. Formerly an upmarket shopping mall housing scores of designer boutiques, most boutiques have now given way to middle-range fashion houses such as Déjà Vu Vintage, Mon Chou Chou and others. There are also specialty shops offering golf equipment, jewelery and other lifestyle products. Eateries can be found everywhere, and include Paulaner Bräuhaus, Miharu Sapporo Ramen, and a food court whipping up delectable local cuisine.

9 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore, Singapore, 039596
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

Linked to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Casino, this enormous mall brands itself as Singapore’s first luxury shopping destination. Accordingly, the retail is in the high-end bracket and dominated by boutiques from big names like Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Burberry, Cartier and Prada. There’s a good variety of cafés and even a food court, but the big culinary draws are the restaurants from celebrity chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Guy Savoy, and Singaporean Justin Quek. Though a shopping spree at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands will quickly burn a hole in your pocket, this beautiful mall is worth a visit for its other attractions which include a skating rink, art installations, and gondola rides on its indoor river.

In addition, there are some 70 restaurants, pubs, fast food outlets and food courts to whet your appetite.

Its beauty salons also offer massages and nail treatments for a fraction of what the hotel spas charge. Other occupants include electronics shops, convenience stores, food stalls, and KTV (karaoke) bars.

Occupying the top level are some shops specializing in Chinese art and antiques. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located on the ground floor, with dining services in the basement area with food ranging from Indian and Thai to international cuisine.

Compacted in over 8 levels of retail space, ION Orchard offers a unique mix of high-end flagship luxury boutiques and mid-range outlets. With the shops mindfully clustered (where basement levels are catered to mid-range shoppers, with the higher levels reserved for those with more expensive tastes), there are shops for every wallet. Amidst the shopping marathon, do take a break to refuel at the food hall tucked on the basement level, recommended for its wide range of desserts, pastries and snacks for you to choose from.

For contemporary home furnishings, check out Tatty Marsh. There are also fast-food outlets, a well-stocked gourmet supermarket as well as health and beauty salons.
