Opened in April 2013 with brand new facilities, Piece Hostel Kyoto is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. It features a spacious and comfortable lounge, a tatami (woven-straw) terrace and a wall-size map with latest event information around Kyoto. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property, while portable WiFi devices are available for guests to use during their stay for an additional fee. The hostel is about a 10-minute subway ride away from Nijo-jo Castle, and a 10-minute drive from popular Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Fushimi Inari with hundreds of red gates can be reached within a 10-minute train ride. Kyoto Piece Hostel provides a fully-equipped kitchen, a library with international books and guidebooks, and internet PCs for free. Laundry machines and clothes dryers can be used at an extra charge. This is a friendly, well-organized and fairly disciplined youth hostel in the west of the city. Be warned that light's out is 10.30pm and there is also a 10pm curfew! There is room for 168 guests and facilities include bike rental for 600 yen and laundry provision. Breakfast and dinner are available at 500 yen and 850 yen respectively and the nightly charge is a very cheap 2800 yen.
