The downtown Chinatown setting is not exactly elegant, but this restaurant is fairly upscale and trendy for the area. Both the food and the friendly service make the trip downtown worthwhile if you are not already there. The lemon chicken and vegetable dumplings are both highly recommended, but this restaurant is famous for its egg rolls. They are nice and fat, and just bursting with flavor. Definitely do not skip them as an appetizer.
Chinese food is so much more than the standard dozen or two Americanized lunch special dishes that come accompanied by colorless fried rice and a greasy egg roll. Jade Garden is a bustling Sugarland hotspot, especially on the weekends. you can get a group together and share a table full of dim sum, essentially Hong Kong style tapas. You can also get the most delicious steamed veggies, thick and semitransparent dumplings, and for the adventurous eaters, there is scrumptious chicken feet. They have plenty of traditional noodle dishes too. - Adam Rosen
