Gundulić Square

Located in the Old Town of Dubrovnik, Gundulić Square is the perfect place to take in the wonderful local culture. The square is named after Ivan Gundulić who is one of the most celebrated poets from Dubrovnik of the Baroque period. Until noon everyday, the square is transformed into a produce market where you can by fresh local food. Also on the square is the famed Pucić Palace. The square has a beautiful statue of the author by Ivan Rendić. Below the statue there are depictions of scenes from Gundulić's epic poem, Osman.

Stradun street

The Placa-Stradun is about 300 meters long and stretches from the Pile Gate and the Large Onofrio Fountain to the Bell Tower. Tourist souvenir shops, sladoled (ice cream) shops, cafes, and retail stores line the street. The Stradun is a major venue for various festivals and street performers, as well as the city's main shopping district.
