A sizable stretch of green, in the Cape Cod region, Nickerson State Park is a must visit for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Covering a massive 1,967 acres (796 hectares) this state-owned park is peppered with sandy soil, scrub pines and a number of kettle ponds that make it one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems in the area. Featuring numerous hiking trails, trek routes, campgrounds and fishing areas, this is also one of the hot-spots for outdoor activities and nature tours.
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History's main objective is to make people more aware of the environment and their surroundings. The museum is divided into two floors dedicated to the flora and fauna of the region which includes exhibits on whales, birds, reptiles and amphibians found in the region. There is a library for extra research and a shop where you can find souvenirs to remind you of the environment around you. The museum also holds various activities to provide a learning experience for children as well as adults! Admission and open hours vary seasonally.
Anche se chiamata pista ciclabile, questo sentiero pavimentato va bene anche per camminare, correre, andare a cavallo o con i rollerblade. Quando c'è la neve (raramente) si può usare anche per fare sci di fondo. Costruito sopra una vecchia ferrovia, questo panoramico sentiero lungo 40 chilometri porta da Dennis a Wellfleet passa attraverso stagni di mirtilli rossi, laghi e paesini. Il Nickerson State Park, in Brewster vicino alla Route 6, si occupa della manutenzione del sentiero e si trova a metà strada sula tragitto. Visitate il sito per mappa, aree di sosta e punti d'accesso.
La torre di mattoni non è notevole per la sua architettura ma per la sua incredibile vista. Situata a Dennis in cima al Scargo Hill, alto 50 metri (il punto più alto di Cape Cod), quando il cielo è limpido potete vedere il Provincetown Monument e la terra ferma del Massachusetts. Con qualunque condizione climatica potete vedere il lago Scargo, che prende il nome da una principessa indiana americana. È anche un posto molto romantico sopratutto per ammirare il tramonto o il cielo stellato.
Per anni i Kennedy hanno passato le loro vacanza nella loro proprietà di Hyannisport. La residenza è privata ma i visitatori del museo possono attraverso le foto ed i video capire che significato aveva questo posto per il 35esimo presidente. Vedrete John F. Kennedy che si rilassa nel posto che lui descriveva come: "l'unico posto dove posso stare solo e pensare". Un monumento in ricordo di John F. Kennedy Jr, che morì in un incidente aereo nel 1999, è stato da poco aggiunto.

The Cape Cod Lavender Farm is a beautiful green oasis that's spread across 12 acres (4.85 Hectares) of beautiful farmland and boasts thousands of plants. The best time to visit the farm is between June and July when the lavenders are in bloom and the place is transformed into a riot of colors and fragrances. There's truly nothing as magnificent. The shop sells a wide range of Lavender-based products including baby-care products, body care oils, scrubs, gels, and much more. This place makes for a great educational outing and is much-loved by the kids.
Harwich Cultural Center is a rental facility available for hosting private, community events and celebrations. The center is administered by the Harwich Community Center. The cultural center was established in the late 1930s as a school which later got its identity of a community center.
The focal point of all major activities and events in town, Harwich Community Center Field is one spot where you are always certain to find a bit of fun. One of the main recreational centers in the city, this is where one can indulge in plethora of games and activities, as well as catch a concert, exhibition, play and other stage performances, and events. This is also the venue for the renowned Harwich Cranberry Festival, an annual arts and music festival, that puts the little city on the map.
Built in the mid-19th Century, South Harwich Meeting House is a cultural center located in the heart of South Harwich. What was once a prayer home for the locals today is a cultural center featuring local music concerts and art performances. Built in white wood furnishing resembling the Old-European Gothic architecture, the cultural center ground also includes a cemetery. This community center is administered by the Town of Harwich and is a meeting place for the people of South Harwich.
