Located adjacent to the Kula Lodge on the slopes of Haleakala, this shop is a colorful and inviting spot for anyone to find unique items, crafts, jewelry and more. The large parking lot is located on the down slope side of the Kula Highway. There is lots of free parking for those who want to browse. Once inside, you'll see shelves filled with local jams, jellies, dressings, coffees, cookies and other wonderful, tasty items. Just steps away from the restaurant and gates, this shop is located in the secured area at Kahului Airport. Additionally, this shop is a lifesaver for travelers who need last minute gifts or other items before they leave the island. The open-air airport is smaller than most airports and although there are not many shops, this is one that seems to have everything anyone would need. The staff is helpful and patient, even during the busiest times during the day.
Located on a heavily trafficked section of South Kihei Road, this shopping center has a few major businesses. Foremost among them are Foodland, one of Maui's favorite grocery stores, and Chuck's Steakhouse, a large, busy, family-style eatery. A few specialty stores are also located here. The Rainbow Attic is a popular second-hand clothing store, known for its low-priced designer consignments. Diver's Locker rents and sells pro snorkel and dive equipment.
Located in the small town of Pukalani, this neighborhood grocery store is a wonderful spot to pick up everyday items without having to pay resort prices. The grocery has been open in the same location for more than a generation. Refurbished and modernized, it has become the center of the Pukalani community. On any given day one will see area residents chatting and socializing while in line with milk, beer and bread. There are many unique island products available along with favorite national brands. Stylish Aloha shirts, authentic surfer-style T-shirts and designer-name board shorts are in stock. Sandals, sunglasses and other accessories are also sold. If you're heading to Makena Beach for the day and don't want to be spotted as a tourist, this is a good place to outfit yourself.
