A striking vision in grey, this Gothic church is the second-longest cathedral in Ireland. Originally established by Saint Canice as a monastic settlement in the 6th Century, the cathedral features a variety of exhibits of historical interest, including stained glass windows, limestone grave slabs and medieval carvings by Rory and William O'Tunney. One of its most salient features is its "Celtic Christian" round tower, one of the few remaining medieval vestiges of its kind that can be ascended to the top. It also notably enshrines prominent Ossory bishops.
The Medieval Mile Museum is located in the restored and retrofitted St Mary's Church Building, with it's Graveyard complex retained alongside. While the Church is a fine example of the medieval Renaissance style, the interiors widely adapt to a modern style of display. The Museum parades a fine collection of Kilkenny's historic remains, and demonstrates the City's prime role in Medieval history. With the ornate works of the bygone era, the Museum is an epicentre of art and culture in the City.

Archaic ruins witness spell-binding concerts in the Lady Chapel of the St John's Priory. The classic concert is often organized in the restored Lady Chapel, as rest of the 13th Century Priory, that had its influence from the Sainte Chapelle, Paris, remains shambled. Nevertheless, the impeccable backdrop of one of History's finest marks in Kilkenny for presenting the ravishing notes created by the famed composer, is second to none. Not only presentations of Beethoven's creations, but many artists perform at this venue and leave a mark forever, in the passage of history and time.
