One of the most loved culture museums in the city, Fitchburg Art Museum is dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of regional art. Home to a historical collection of local art, along with a collection African and Ancient Art, this is where one can learn about diverse styles of art and the effect of a region's culture on their artists. Apart from its permanent collection, the museum also organizes exhibitions and workshops, wherein visitors can seize the opportunity to watch some of the best artists create their next big masterpiece.
Upper Common is located at the crossroads of Main Street, Mechanic Street and Prospect Street. The park features a water fountain with beautiful sculptures by the Fitchburg local artist Herbert Adams and also a gazebo. The park hosts concerts during summers.
Lowe Playground is a quaint park bordering the B.F. Brown Middle School and also the Fitchburg Art Museum. Spanning across an area of 4 acres (1.62 hectares), the park offers play area with swings, horseshoe pits, a softball field, a basketball court and a walking path.
